Certification Committee Charter

Purpose: The Certification Committee oversees CAIBOK’s certification program, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17024.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and approve certification schemes and assessment methodologies.
  • Ensure impartiality and integrity in certification.
  • Review appeals and complaints.

Impartiality Policy

CAIBOK.org is committed to impartiality in all certification activities. We ensure:

  • Independence in certification decisions.
  • Prevention of financial or commercial influence.
  • Mandatory conflict-of-interest declarations.

Conflict of Interest Policy

Purpose: To prevent conflicts of interest in certification.

Scope: Applies to all personnel involved in certification.

Prohibited Activities:

  • Examiners cannot evaluate candidates they have trained.
  • Certification decisions must be free from financial influence.

Code of Ethics for Certification Personnel

All individuals involved in certification must:

  • Maintain confidentiality of candidate information.
  • Act with integrity and professionalism.
  • Avoid actions compromising certification credibility.

Certification Scheme Document

Purpose: Defines competency standards and certification levels.

Levels:

  • White Belt – Entry-level
  • Brown Belt – Commis
  • Green Belt – Chef de Partie
  • Red Belt – Sous Chef
  • Black Belt Chef – Chef de Cuisine
  • Gold Belt – Executive Chef

Candidate Handbook

Introduction: Outlines the certification process, eligibility, and requirements.

Exam Policies:

  • Exams are proctored and secure.
  • No unauthorized materials allowed.
  • Appeals must be filed within 30 days.

Examination Security Policy

Purpose: Protects the validity of CAIBOK’s certification exams.

Security Measures:

  • Exams are conducted in a secure environment.
  • Candidate identification is required.
  • Unauthorized content sharing is prohibited.

Appeals & Complaints Handling Policy

Appeals Process:

  • Appeals must be submitted in writing within 30 days.
  • Reviewed by the Certification Committee within 60 days.

Complaints Process:

  • Complaints must be filed within 60 days.
  • Resolutions will be communicated within 90 days.

Internal Audit Policy

Purpose: Establishes a framework for internal audits to maintain compliance.

Procedures:

  • Regular audits conducted annually.
  • Audit findings reviewed by the Certification Committee.
  • Corrective actions documented and implemented.

Risk Management Policy
